Indonesia secured the Group A title and a place in the final of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 after a dramatic 9-2 victory over Bangladesh at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta last night. Malaysia's 6-0 win over Singapore, with Bergson Da Silva scoring their sixth in the 90+3rd minute, momentarily put Indonesia's top spot in jeopardy with the score at 7-2. Two late goals from Kevin Diks (90+6) and Mitchell Baker (90+7) sealed the win and the group. Both teams finished with 7 points and a +7 goal difference, but Indonesia advanced with 11 goals scored compared to Malaysia's 9. After the match, players made a video call to captain Jay Idzes, who missed the tournament due to injury while playing for Sassuolo in Italy.
